The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show begins this Saturday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Billed as the biggest consumer event of its kind in North America, the show organisers say it is really 7 shows in one.
The show will run through February 12, 2006. It will take place at the Farm Show Complex 2301 Cameron Street.
Show organiser, Debra Tressler of Reed Exhibitions says the show is about hunting, fishing, camping, boating, RVs, archery and travel. She said many people go to this and other shows because they want to hear from the experts.
“People tend to choose their type of seminar, whether it’s hunting or fishing, and stick with that stage, since they are separate,†Tressler said.
The lineup includes Chuck Adams, said to be the world’s best-known bow hunter; Michael Hanback, Outdoor Life magazine’s whitetail specialist; Jim Zumbo, writer and Outdoor Channel host; Mike Iaconelli, the 2003 Bassmaster Classic champion; and Ken Penrod, a member of the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame.
The show will have contests, competitions of several kinds in many venues, as well a daily lumberjack competitions. The show has made some admission changes. They are attempting an evening admission for less money than a full day fee.
