Public Hearings in Wisconsin to Discuss Deer Plans

Below is a list of where public hearings will be held along with dates and locations. The Wisconsin DNR is holding these meetings to discuss last season’s deer hunt and they hope to have all the figures available by meeting time. The meetings will also discuss plans for next season including the late winter 4 day antlerless deer hunt in the northern counties.

Barron and Polk counties is Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Turtle Lake High School cafeteria. It runs from 7-9 p.m., and will cover deer management units 10, 15, 16, 21, 22, 22A and 23.

Bayfield and Douglas (Units 2, 3, 5, 6 and 9) – Monday, Feb. 20, 7 p.m., at Iron River Community Center.

• Rusk County (Units 18, 19, 23 and 24) – Tuesday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m., at Ladysmith High School cafeteria.

• Washburn and Burnett counties (Units 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17) – Tuesday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m., at St. Croix Tribal Clinic at Hertel.

• Ashland and Bayfield counties (Units 3, 6, 7, 28 and 78) – Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7 p.m. at WITC in Ashland.

• Douglas County (Units 1, 1M, 2, 4, 8 and 9) – Wednesday, Feb. 22, 6 p.m., at WITC Superior Conference Center.

• Sawyer County (Units 9, 13, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19 and 20) – Thursday, Feb. 23, 7 p.m., at Hayward High School auditorium.
