Black Bear Harvest Results for New York

New York is issuing the results of its 2005 black bear hunt. The total number of bear taken was 1,066 up slightly from last year’s total of 1,014. There were 184 bears harvested in the northern zone early season, 277 during the archery seasons, 56 during muzzle loader season and 599 during the regular bear season.
