A mother and her to children were attacked by a black bear in the Chilowee recreation area of the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee last week. A six-year old girl was killed and the mother and two-year old son are still in the hospital.
Wildlife officials have been searching for the bear responsible and have captured one that matches the discription in a trap that had been set. The bear was killed and put on ice. It will be sent to the University of Tennessee for DNA testing to determine if this was the bear that killed the girl. They also want to try to figure out why the bear acted way it did.
