In a somewhat complex agreement with a local mining company, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, working with National Parks Service, the Flight 93 Advisory Committee, Flight 93 Memorial Task Force and Families of Flight 93, Inc., will acquire about 300 acres adjacent to the Flight 93 National Memorial.
The land will be purchased using funds generated from the sale of other lands involving roads to be used by a mining company. The land will be public lands that will remain open to hunting. The Game Commission says this is one of what they hope to be several opportunities to buy up more land surrounding the Flight 93 National Memorial.
