The United Nations Wants Your Guns

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In case you’ve been in the Antarctic for the last month or so, the United Nations is having a conference in New York beginning Monday and runs through the Fourth of July. The goal of the meeting is to figure out how to strip the world of guns.

Needless to say Americans are not happy about this meeting and to add insult to injury, the meeting is being held on American soil during a time when we celebrate our national birthday and the freedoms we all enjoy so much.

Kofi Anan, Secretary General for the UN and Prasas Kariyawasam, Sri Lankan Ambassador to the UN, who will preside over the conference, have received over 100,000 letters from irate Americans.

Here are examples of some of the letters.

“The 4th of July is America’s most revered national holiday. Yet, you have nevertheless chosen that day to meet at the U.N., on American soil, in your drive to ban civilian firearm ownership worldwide. In doing so, you have placed the U.N. squarely on the side of freedom’s enemies,” reads a form letter to Secretary-General Kofi Annan made available on an NRA Web site (www.stopungunban.org).
Another sample letter, addressed to Sri Lankan Ambassador Prasad Kariyawasam, who will preside over the conference, says: “The American people will never let you take away the rights that our 4th of July holiday represents. Our freedoms are not to blame for the world’s problems, and this is a battle you can never win.”

We have a tough enough time dealing with the progressive liberals and fear mongers in this country about guns. Now the likes of a totally useless organization that can’t and won’t accomplish anything in the world worthwhile wants to address ridding the world of guns. What they really should be holding a conference on is how to rid the world of sub-human terrorists.
