Vermont Fish and Game auctioned off five moose permits for this coming fall’s moose hunt. The high bidders have been announced.
Dr. John Lovetere of Hampton, N.H., was the highest bidder, paying $5,901 for the right to hunt moose during this October.
Fran Azur of Coraopolis, Pa., was the high-bidder for the one permit that was auctioned off on eBay, submitting a bid of $5,101.
“The high bid on the auction came in with about two minutes left in the eBay auction,” said Vermont Fish and Wildlife spokesman John Hall.
The other three winners who submitted sealed bids were W. Randy Pretzer of Teague, Texas ($4,500), John A. Lovetere of Woodbury, Conn., ($3,901) and David Mason, Jr., of Southborough, Mass., ($3,787). According to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, John A. Lovetere is Dr. John Lovetere’s father.Â
