Pennsylvania Sets Second Highest Bear Record

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The bear season in Pennsylvania has come and gone and hunters had good success. There were 3,099 bears taken making this the second highest total on record. Wildlife officials credit the success to more bear hunting licenses sold, an ample bear population, decent weather and an abundance of food for the bear.

This year marked the first at an archery hunt for bear. Total bears killed by bow and arrow was 74.

Last year’s record breaking year totaled 4,164 bears tagged.
