New Hampshire Deer Kill 2nd Highest In 38 Years

Unofficial figures are being released by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Total deer killed is estimated at 11,745, which is the third year in a row with an increase in numbers tagged and is the second highest number taken in 38 years. Officials say the biggest cause for an upswing in overall deer population is the result of a few recent mild winters. That combined with the departments efforts in increasing numbers has paid off for hunters.

Official results and a detailed report will not be available until sometime in March.

A visit to the New Hampshire Fish and Game site will show a breakdown on numbers killed by country.
