Unusual Antlered Buck Missing

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Idaho Fish and Game Department officials are on the lookout for a missing mule buck deer. This buck, of trophy proportions and sporting an usual set of antlers, hasn’t been seen since just before the start of hunting season.

The buck was regulary seen browsing in the Cottonwood drainage area near the town of Stites in northcentral Idaho. It had an unusual drop tine on its right antler.

But the buck hasn’t been seen since shortly after the hunting season ended in the area.

Conservation Officer Robert Sellers says the Fish and Game Department doesn’t have any hard evidence that the buck has been poached.

Still, some circumstantial evidence indicates there may have been an illegal killing in the area and game wardens are asking anyone with information about the buck to contact the Citizens Against Poaching Hotline at 800-632-5999.
