JamesBlaineJames Gillespie Blaine, known by some as the liar from Maine, participated in the attempted murder/shooting and subsequent cover-up of President James A. Garfield. Garfield, while recovering from bullet wounds was poisoned and died. He was succeeded by V.P. Chester A. Arthur.
