Small Fish or a FINE LARGE FISH?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

From the Gospel of Thomas, verse 8: Yeshua said, “The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of small fish. Among them the wise fisherman found a fine large fish. He threw all the small fish back into the sea and chose the large fish without difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Or, from one who has ears and hears: “The Kingdom is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea (Christian era) and drew it up from the sea (Christian age) full of small fish (Various Christian denominations). Among them the wise fisherman found a fine (Note that ‘large’ is a key that has to do with ‘fine’) large fish (Singular teaching, true teaching of Christ). He threw all the small fish back (Christian denominations) into the sea (Age of Christendom) and chose the large (Fine) fish (Christian teaching) without difficulty. (Because it was obvious which one was the finest)”
