President Issues Executive Order to ‘rearrange the deck chairs’ on His Sinking Climate Ship

By John L. Casey, November 4, 2013.

On November 1, 2013, President Barack Obama issued an Executive Order titled, “Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change.” In the course of which, he has assembled all his climate decision making organizations and representatives from virtually all agencies of the federal government into an all-powerful, all knowing, single climate advisory body – the “Council on Climate Preparedness and Resilience.”

In the process of his plowing ahead with his overall “Climate Action Plan,” and in a fit of obvious, if not disturbing White House cognitive dissonance, the President once more blatantly deceives his people and the world about the status of the Earth’s climate while reinforcing that he “The One” can change the Earth’s climate.

It was apparently not embarrassing enough for him that he spoke the unmitigated lie that global warming was “accelerating,” during his June 25, 2013 address at Georgetown University.

And perhaps no one on his staff bothered to tell him that shortly thereafter in a Senate hearing, that none of his strongest science supporters was willing to agree with his Georgetown climate status assessment.<<<Read the Rest>>>

Executive Orders and the Fascism of Fake Climate Change

wake-up-america

Stupid is as stupid does, as American’s, by the truckload, continue to swallow, hook, line and sinker, the lies about fake climate change, the result being instilled fear and a willingness to yield individual sovereignty and what’s left of government issued rights by the people. We may be at a point where Americans no longer even suspect that they are being led to the slaughter.

I would like to say, here is truth that spells out what has been behind the lies of climate change over the past decade or more, but really, what good would it do. For those with a useful brain and actually care, here is the latest of illegal executive orders (actually dictatorial decrees), signed by Barack Obama that gives he and his ruling elite more power over the people via the annexation of rights due to anything related to climate, weather or anything closely related.

Perhaps this new executive order is akin to the craftily designed Commerce Clause that has been so successful in giving ruling fascists in this country power to control our lives by corruptly linking anything to “commerce” in order to wield dictatorial power.

Below is the latest in executive orders signed by fascist Obama, supported by his fascist congress and fascist courts. While anyone with a brain knows climate change, as is propagated by the fake climate scientists, is not real, the ruling establishment continues to push the lie because they fully understand the power it endows them with.

Executive Order — Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change

EXECUTIVE ORDER

– – – – – – –

PREPARING THE UNITED STATES FOR THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to prepare the Nation for the impacts of climate change by undertaking actions to enhance climate preparedness and resilience, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Policy. The impacts of climate change — including an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification, and sea-level rise — are already affecting communities, natural resources, ecosystems, economies, and public health across the Nation. These impacts are often most significant for communities that already face economic or health-related challenges, and for species and habitats that are already facing other pressures. Managing these risks requires deliberate preparation, close cooperation, and coordinated planning by the Federal Government, as well as by stakeholders, to facilitate Federal, State, local, tribal, private-sector, and nonprofit-sector efforts to improve climate preparedness and resilience; help safeguard our economy, infrastructure, environment, and natural resources; and provide for the continuity of executive department and agency (agency) operations, services, and programs.

A foundation for coordinated action on climate change preparedness and resilience across the Federal Government was established by Executive Order 13514 of October 5, 2009 (Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance), and the Interagency Climate Change Adaptation Task Force led by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In addition, through the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP), established by section 103 of the Global Change Research Act of 1990 (15 U.S.C. 2933), and agency programs and activities, the Federal Government will continue to support scientific research, observational capabilities, and assessments necessary to improve our understanding of and response to climate change and its impacts on the Nation.

The Federal Government must build on recent progress and pursue new strategies to improve the Nation’s preparedness and resilience. In doing so, agencies should promote: (1) engaged and strong partnerships and information sharing at all levels of government; (2) risk-informed decisionmaking and the tools to facilitate it; (3) adaptive learning, in which experiences serve as opportunities to inform and adjust future actions; and (4) preparedness planning.

Sec. 2. Modernizing Federal Programs to Support Climate Resilient Investment. (a) To support the efforts of regions, States, local communities, and tribes, all agencies, consistent with their missions and in coordination with the Council on Climate Preparedness and Resilience (Council) established in section 6 of this order, shall:

(i) identify and seek to remove or reform barriers that discourage investments or other actions to increase the Nation’s resilience to climate change while ensuring continued protection of public health and the environment;

(ii) reform policies and Federal funding programs that may, perhaps unintentionally, increase the vulnerability of natural or built systems, economic sectors, natural resources, or communities to climate change related risks;

(iii) identify opportunities to support and encourage smarter, more climate-resilient investments by States, local communities, and tribes, including by providing incentives through agency guidance, grants, technical assistance, performance measures, safety considerations, and other programs, including in the context of infrastructure development as reflected in Executive Order 12893 of January 26, 1994 (Principles for Federal Infrastructure Investments), my memorandum of August 31, 2011 (Speeding Infrastructure Development through More Efficient and Effective Permitting and Environmental Review), Executive Order 13604 of March 22, 2012 (Improving Performance of Federal Permitting and Review of Infrastructure Projects), and my memorandum of May 17, 2013 (Modernizing Federal Infrastructure Review and Permitting Regulations, Policies, and Procedures); and

(iv) report on their progress in achieving the requirements identified above, including accomplished and planned milestones, in the Agency Adaptation Plans developed pursuant to section 5 of this order.

(b) In carrying out this section, agencies should also consider the recommendations of the State, Local, and Tribal Leaders Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience (Task Force) established in section 7 of this order and the National Infrastructure Advisory Council established by Executive Order 13231 of October 16, 2001 (Critical Infrastructure Protection in the Information Age), and continued through Executive Order 13652 of September 30, 2013 (Continuance of Certain Federal Advisory Committees).

(c) Interagency groups charged with coordinating and modernizing Federal processes related to the development and integration of both man-made and natural infrastructure, evaluating public health and social equity issues, safeguarding natural resources, and other issues impacted by climate change — including the Steering Committee on Federal Infrastructure Permitting and Review Process Improvement established by Executive Order 13604, the Task Force on Ports established on July 19, 2012, the Interagency Working Group on Coordination of Domestic Energy Development and Permitting in Alaska established by Executive Order 13580 of July 12, 2011, and the Federal Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice established by Executive Order 12898 of February 11, 1994 — shall be responsible for ensuring that climate change related risks are accounted for in such processes and shall work with agencies in meeting the requirements set forth in subsections (a) and (b) of this section.

Sec. 3. Managing Lands and Waters for Climate Preparedness and Resilience. Within 9 months of the date of this order and in coordination with the efforts described in section 2 of this order, the heads of the Departments of Defense, the Interior, and Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency, NOAA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Army Corps of Engineers, and other agencies as recommended by the Council established in section 6 of this order shall work with the Chair of CEQ and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to complete an inventory and assessment of proposed and completed changes to their land- and water-related policies, programs, and regulations necessary to make the Nation’s watersheds, natural resources, and ecosystems, and the communities and economies that depend on them, more resilient in the face of a changing climate. Further, recognizing the many benefits the Nation’s natural infrastructure provides, agencies shall, where possible, focus on program and policy adjustments that promote the dual goals of greater climate resilience and carbon sequestration, or other reductions to the sources of climate change. The assessment shall include a timeline and plan for making changes to policies, programs, and regulations. Agencies shall build on efforts already completed or underway as outlined in agencies’ Adaptation Plans, as discussed in section 5 of this order, as well as recent interagency climate adaptation strategies such as the National Action Plan: Priorities for Managing Freshwater Resources in a Changing Climate, released October 28, 2011; the National Fish, Wildlife and Plants Climate Adaptation Strategy, released March 26, 2013; and the National Ocean Policy Implementation Plan, released April 16, 2013.

Sec. 4. Providing Information, Data, and Tools for Climate Change Preparedness and Resilience. (a) In support of Federal, regional, State, local, tribal, private-sector and nonprofit-sector efforts to prepare for the impacts of climate change, the Departments of Defense, the Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, Energy, and Homeland Security, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and any other agencies as recommended by the Council established in section 6 of this order, shall, supported by USGCRP, work together to develop and provide authoritative, easily accessible, usable, and timely data, information, and decision-support tools on climate preparedness and resilience.

(b) As part of the broader open data policy, CEQ and OSTP, in collaboration with OMB and consistent with Executive Order 13642 of May 9, 2013 (Making Open and Machine Readable the New Default for Government Information), shall oversee the establishment of a web-based portal on “Data.gov” and work with agencies on identifying, developing, and integrating data and tools relevant to climate issues and decisionmaking. Agencies shall coordinate their work on these data and tools with relevant interagency councils and committees such as the National Science and Technology Council and those that support the implementation of Presidential Policy Directive-21 of February 12, 2013 (Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience).

Sec. 5. Federal Agency Planning for Climate Change Related Risk. (a) Consistent with Executive Order 13514, agencies have developed Agency Adaptation Plans and provided them to CEQ and OMB. These plans evaluate the most significant climate change related risks to, and vulnerabilities in, agency operations and missions in both the short and long term, and outline actions that agencies will take to manage these risks and vulnerabilities. Building on these efforts, each agency shall develop or continue to develop, implement, and update comprehensive plans that integrate consideration of climate change into agency operations and overall mission objectives and submit those plans to CEQ and OMB for review. Each Agency Adaptation Plan shall include:

(i) identification and assessment of climate change related impacts on and risks to the agency’s ability to accomplish its missions, operations, and programs;

(ii) a description of programs, policies, and plans the agency has already put in place, as well as additional actions the agency will take, to manage climate risks in the near term and build resilience in the short and long term;

(iii) a description of how any climate change related risk identified pursuant to paragraph (i) of this subsection that is deemed so significant that it impairs an agency’s statutory mission or operation will be addressed, including through the agency’s existing reporting requirements;

(iv) a description of how the agency will consider the need to improve climate adaptation and resilience, including the costs and benefits of such improvement, with respect to agency suppliers, supply chain, real property investments, and capital equipment purchases such as updating agency policies for leasing, building upgrades, relocation of existing facilities and equipment, and construction of new facilities; and

(v) a description of how the agency will contribute to coordinated interagency efforts to support climate preparedness and resilience at all levels of government, including collaborative work across agencies’ regional offices and hubs, and through coordinated development of information, data, and tools, consistent with section 4 of this order.

(b) Agencies will report on progress made on their Adaptation Plans, as well as any updates made to the plans, through the annual Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan process. Agencies shall regularly update their Adaptation Plans, completing the first update within 120 days of the date of this order, with additional regular updates thereafter due not later than 1 year after the publication of each quadrennial National Climate Assessment report required by section 106 of the Global Change Research Act of 1990 (15 U.S.C. 2936).

Sec. 6. Council on Climate Preparedness and Resilience.

Joe “Pouty Face” Biden Warns of More Obama Executive Actions

Maybe I should revive the watch for more executive orders. Seems the vice president Joe Biden, whose face these days seem to be permanently stuck in a sad looking pout, warns Americans that the President is working on more “executive actions” to get his way.

Guns Will Be Confiscated, But How?

Those who seek truth are not afraid to examine the words of all those in positions of power in order to determine what is and what isn’t the truth that drives an agenda or seeks a desired outcome. The gun ownership and rights to self protection debate is full of facts, lies, half-truths, rhetoric, emotions and very little truth.

Neocon and warmonger, John Bolton, former Ambassador to the United Nations under George W. Bush, and John Yoo, a law professor at the University of California, Berkeley, might give us a bit of a glimpse into how the Government of the United States and/or an international power, i.e. United Nations/One World Government, intends to unwittingly disarm the American people.

Very few people understand the U.S. Constitution. Even those who claim they do, in my opinion, may be wrong. But, I’m not here to try to convince you that I understand it. I don’t, but I’m working on it. I do know enough about it to know I know little about it.

If we examine some common themes of the Constitution, i.e. Supremacy Clause, Commerce Clause, Tenth Amendment, Treaties, etc., it will help readers form a basis and assist them in understanding what Bolton and Yoo are saying about treaties and executive orders. Whether it’s the Obama Administration or the next or next, they will succeed in getting guns away from the American population. Historical odds are stacked heavily in favor of that happening. I will repeat myself one more time and say that the millions and millions of guns owned by a few million U.S. citizens is the only and last deterrent keeping us away from total despotic and tyrannical rule. Do away with the guns and everything else becomes a cake walk.

Looking at two recent Supreme Court rulings – Heller v. District of Columbia and MacDonald v. Chicago – we see that the Court has ruled that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to own a gun. The same Court also made known that both the governments and the individuals have limits to power and rights, respectively.

Article II of the U.S. Constitution defines the executive powers of the president and also lays the groundwork for Treaties and states that lawful treaties become the supreme rule of law.

We also know that on April 2, 2013, the United States signed the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Law states that such signed treaties must be approved by a super majority of the U.S. Senate and, of course, signed by the president. Only then can a treaty become the supreme laws that governs us…….or not?

Historically, we have been witness to presidential power through executive orders. There is always debate as to whether certain executive orders violate the constitutional authority granted the president in defining his or her executive powers. The truth is, executive orders have been used for many, many years, but does the use and abuse of them make it right or legal? Just how far can a president go to accomplish certain things a Congress will not permit? We’ve seen some far stretches.

Executive orders are intended to be used so presidents can clarify and make unsubstantial changes to existing laws. However, many would argue that for several previous administrations abuse of such powers are an overreach of executive power. Some want to blame Barack Obama for being the first to abuse the privilege of executive privilege, but that abuse existed long before President Obama was even born.

In consideration of all this and the fact that we can easily see that the Constitution has been twisted and turned and “reinterpreted”, not unlike the way it was done in ancient times of Roman history that led to the destruction of republics and the rights of people, fear should grip the people today that we are headed in the same direction and that eventually, a treaty, such as the Arms Trade Treaty, will be implemented by executive order. This is what is known as tyranny.

But is it probable or even possible? From what I am seeing, I think it’s easy to state that it’s possible and if things don’t change, it will be probable.

I will leave you with an excerpt of what Bolton and Yoo wrote concerning this.

The attempt to advance gun control through the Arms Trade Treaty might surprise average Americans, but not liberals, who have been long frustrated by the Constitution’s limits on government. Gun-control statutes, like any others, have to survive both the House and the Senate, then win presidential approval. It is far easier to advance an agenda through treaties, unwritten international law and even “norms” delivered by an amorphous “international community.”

Opponents of capital punishment have used treaties to press the Supreme Court to stop the death penalty in Texas. Women’s rights groups advocate an international convention that would achieve the goals of the failed Equal Rights Amendment. And supporters of bans on “hate speech” invoke international norms to defeat First Amendment objections. There also is an international legal doctrine that during the period when a country has signed but not yet ratified a treaty, it must take no measures that defeat the treaty’s object and purposes. Under some liberal theories, this would allow the president to put some measures of the new arms treaty into effect by executive order.

Note: There really is no need to qualify any part of this discussion as being the fault of “liberal theories” and “liberals, and as somehow a battle between left and right, democrat or republican.” Both sides can claim equal fault or credit in the destruction of our Constitutional Republic. It’s all about power and control, divided equally among power and control hungry tyrants.

Day 92 – No Executive Orders, BUT………

MISLEADING!

Day 92 and the people cannot find published on the White House website, at the location where all executive orders are placed, any information that would contain details of the President’s 23 ideas of how he plans to make our schools safer by the further destruction of the Second Amendment.

There does exist, however, 15 pages in a pdf document published by the White House that contains 4 more detailed plans of how President Obama will, “protect our children and our communities by reducing gun violence.”

When you work alone, as I do, it is impossible to vet out every bit of information in a timely fashion. I pull together as much as I can, as quickly as I can and tread carefully to make sure I can substantiate or give credit to the origins of stories and information. For that reason, I rely heavily on tips and information sent to me by readers. They are my staff. I know of no other bloggers who don’t rely on this effort. I have several people that, frankly, if I didn’t have their help, my work wouldn’t be at the level it is today.

It was with the help of a reader who sent me the link to the White House file titled, “Now is the Time.”

Make no mistake about the fact that the American people were lied to. We can make excuses for the President and play games with semantics but the truth is this president misrepresented what he was doing and for what purpose. He’s been given a free pass and it upsets me to know that lying has become an everyday, acceptable practice.

In speeches following the shootings at Sandy Hook School, President Obama promised that he would take executive action to ensure that such tragedies wouldn’t happen again. On January the 17th, 2013 he put together a media operation in which he exploited innocent children and there was not a person or media outlet present or watching on television that wasn’t told or didn’t believe, by what they were told by the White House, that what the president was doing was signing “executive orders” to reduce gun violence and improve school safety.

Prior to the staged media event, in which the President signed one piece of paper, Obama made public his 23 ideas of how he was going to accomplish this task. I have published those here for you before.

When I began writing about this charade, I stated that I was not going to make comment on the 23 ideas until I had seen the details of those 23 executive orders. It’s easy to summarize a plan but the only way anyone can honestly offer intelligent insight and commentary is by examining the details of the plan. And that is what I have been waiting for…..and still am.

I also explained that there may exist all the details of 23 executive orders and are being kept from the people, or that all there ever was were 23 ideas sent to the press for no other purpose than to convince the people the President was doing something and/or to create a diversion. What I have discovered is prior to the 17th of January, on the 16th, to be exact, is when this executive “action” was dated.

The President then carried out his photo op with the kids, misleading the American people, and I might add, pissing off millions of people who were being told the President was going to circumvent the United States Congress and get his assault on gun rights taken care of through unconstitutional executive orders.

Now that I know of the existence of this other “executive action”, it better explains the President’s actions of late in campaigning around the country to promote his ideas in hopes of getting Congress to take up his cross of Second Amendment destruction and pass legislation accordingly.

I have come to the conclusion that we will never see anything more than what is now available as it may pertain to executive actions by this president; at least not in the immediate future. I am, however, convinced that if Barack Obama does not get what he wants through legislation, he will resort to his executive orders to achieve as much as he can. In the meantime, I and my readers, will stay on top of this and as soon as I know of any important information in that regard, I will pass it on.

This is a good an opportunity as any to take a moment just to say thank you to all my readers and especially to those who care enough in the search for truth, to keep me informed by sending information. I am grateful. Thank you!

DEVIOUS!

Day 91 and no executive orders on the White House website.

Unable to See Truth

Is the world going mad? Has it already gone to the dogs? Maybe we aren’t angry enough yet? Is the U.S. rotting from the inside out?

From the beginning of time, the evil nature of man has sought to control all people and all things. Some may argue that these power brokers were and are doing what they believed best for “their” people, but one could contend that merely the desire to control the masses, in and of itself, to be wrong and any so-called good intent is perceived only through a desire to reinterpret the Truth.

Control is the key word isn’t it? There have existed quotes from the ruling elites; such things as “control the food supply and you control the world” or “control the oil supply, etc.” How does that control come about? In order to control people, one has to find how to force the people, either knowingly or not, to submit to controlling features, even if in small junctures.

Perhaps foremost in people’s minds is the fallout from the events of 9/11. Fear struck people, as would be normal and along with that fear, our government took the opportunity to convince people they must give up some of their rights in order to be protected……..by the government. If only people understood they really need protection FROM their government. But, our society is now loaded up with people unable to think for themselves, nor be bothered with such things as who’s in charge and what the hell are they doing. Instead they want to be led. They like slavery, much because as time progresses fewer and fewer people have any idea what inalienable rights are.

Not much has changed since 9/11 and as we have seen since shootings in Arizona, Colorado and Connecticut, the control freaks our out in full force exploiting the fear factor in order to convince more Americans to give up even more of their rights; a move that in rational thinking runs contrary to the entire concept of inalienable rights. And isn’t that the plan?

Yesterday we had a terrorist bombing in Boston during the marathon and the smoke has yet to settle and already actions are underway to steal more of our rights. But how do you counter this nonsense when most of those with any amount of power, i.e. the media, bloggers, individuals, groups, etc., don’t understand what is going on. All too often those who may think they are doing good and countering an offensive against rights, are simply bringing in more fuel to add to the fire. Real change must begin with a better historical perspective. Let me cite an example.

A reader sent me a link to an article published on The Outdoor Wire by Jim Shepherd. The title is, “Terror Again, California Asks for Help.” (Note: You may have to scroll far down the page to find the article or do a site search to find it. The Outdoor Wire does a lousy job of creating links to stand alone pages for their articles.)

The author is saying that this is no time to be asking for laws that effectively or actually disarm the American people, when there still exist threats of terrorism, both foreign and domestic. I agree. But his reasoning on how this assault needs to be handled lacks historic perspective and as a result misdirects and misrepresents the attitudes of our people.

Here’s what the author said about Americans’ reactions over terror attacks.

Yesterday’s blasts in Boston didn’t just injure and kill innocent people, it reopened the issue of terror in the United States. As authorities raced around to reassure citizens they were doing everything possible, there was a question being asked around the country: do terrorists think the United States has forgotten about 9/11 and gotten weak-again?

I’m not going to speculate there, but the concerted efforts of some elected officials to disarm the citizenry would certainly embolden most of the “terrorist types” I’ve had the occasion to run across throughout 40 years in the news business. I recall the late Moammar Khadafi sitting around and telling reporters that he wasn’t concerned about the United States because the nation was “rotting from the inside out because of the corruption of the nation’s morals.” He was dead wrong on that a couple of decades later, but at the time, the nation was still shaking off the Iranian hostage crisis and the first serious attacks on US citizens abroad. He was sponsoring international terrorism, and he wasn’t overly concerned that the US would do anything about it.

It took 9/11 to get the United States angry. An angry American is an awe-inspiring though idea[?] in much of the rest of the world. Normally, the world really does consider us to generally be weak, too-comfortable with sustaining our lifestyle to realize we just might be rotting from the inside out.

The author dispels any notion that this country is “rotting from the inside out.” He also says that once Americans get angry they get back on track. One can choose to believe that and I suppose to some degree they do but they never got back on the right track. This is proven by our willingness to give up our rights in the name of safety.

I’m no Moammar Khadafi sympathizer but perhaps the dictator’s notion was more rooted in historic fact than that of this author. It is my opinion that what this author, and many others trying to get a grasp on some kind of sanity and understanding of what is happening around us, is attempting to describe a symptom of a bigger disease. That disease is, in fact, a loss of a moral compass to guide our people. This isn’t going to happen overnight. It’s a process and as the process muddles along, the people pay little attention. The result is they don’t see what has happened. In attempts to recall history, we are often laughed at that we don’t know our history and what they have learned is reinterpreted, edited history.

I’m not presenting new thoughts here. Nor am I trying to preach to people about their morals and chosen lifestyles. I don’t have to. All of these chapters and books have already been written. History repeatedly tells us that societies that lose their moral focus rot from the inside out.

Why is this not being seen? For the same reason it was seldom seen throughout all of history. We are all part of a slow moving social destruction and while on the ride, cannot see what is really happening and thus denial, such as the author here has displayed when he said in response to Khadafi’s comment, “He was dead wrong on that a couple of decades later.” That’s denial, the result of being immersed in the problem.

We can’t attempt to trump up anger thinking it is the catalyst to solve our problems. As a society in trouble, we refuse to see that others want to control us and in order to do that they must frighten us. A frightened mass of people, will pretty much do as they are told, because they have been taught, wrongly, to have blind trust in government. When in history has that EVER worked?

All the right and wrong things will be said as we mop up emotionally from Boston, while at the same time debating the need to disarm the people. But in the end, to only those keeping score, we will end up with fewer rights and less freedom that God intended us to have. So shall it be written, so shall it be done.

Random Thoughts and Comments

I haven’t done one of these for awhile, but as I was driving back across town yesterday, all these little questions and observations were banging around in my head – much like a BB in a boxcar….if you can imagine.

It’s been a few hours since that time but let me see if I can remember at least some of my “random thoughts and comments.”

How Did We Ever Survive?

Maybe some of you readers are old enough to remember when cars were made with the dimmer switch on the floor board and you used your foot to switch your lights from low to high beam. Some brilliant “inventor” must have decided one day that the human being wasn’t capable of running three pedals AND a dimmer switch with two feet, so they moved it up to the steering column. Note: Three pedals would consist of accelerator, brake and clutch and some older cars had a starter pedal located usually to the right of the accelerator.

Two feet, back then operated 4 items, while the two hands had control over the steering, a horn, a directional turning signal (depending on the age of the car or truck), shifting lever for the transmission, perhaps a radio, windshield wipers, heater controls and hopefully there were not a lot of other “extracurricular” activities taking place up front or in the back.

So, the super intelligent person moved the damned dimmer switch up to the steering column and today two feet control one gas pedal and one brake (most all cars are automatic transmissions now.) With two feet, having little to do really, the two hands are overtaxed and by God it’s nothing short of a miracle that more people aren’t injured or killed each day.

Two hands take care of the steering wheel, the horn, the automatic transmission shift, the directional indicator light switch, the cruise control, the window wipers and washers, the radio, the heat, the AC, the CD player, the DVD player, all the windows and door locks, seat heaters, GPS, computer (for some), and let’s toss in a dog sitting on one’s lap as well, and by God let’s not leave out that wonderful piece of machinery that has done more to destroy the American society than anything so far in history – the almighty cellphone. Ah, yes. The cellphone.

When you watch people drive while on the highway or driving through city traffic, seldom is there a driver not driving with a cellphone, seemingly permanently attached to an ear. One hand on the steering wheel and the other on the phone while all them other devices get overlooked……including the three or more rear view mirrors.

Not only is the driver severely distracted by the cellphone, but it completely ties up the use of one hand; a hand that is needed to properly control the all important function of operating a deadly instrument.

The cellphone has taken over life in America and certain other places worldwide. Watch people as they go about their day to day. All are consumed by the device. It has turned us into non thinking idiots who have no interpersonal communication skills outside of a cellphone and texting on the cellphone. The world is passing us by.

And just when you think you’ve seen it all, on the weekend I was leaving home. Across the street from where I live, there is a small farm that raises a few beef critters, alpacas, hens and roosters (and they sell eggs). In addition they board horses. As I passed the access area to the pasture and small hovel where the horses hang out, I noticed a young woman in her riding gear and perched atop a horse that was walking in large circles. The rider was busy texting on her cellphone.

Is That the Reason?

Is it a mere coincidence that since John Kerry and Chuck Hagel took over as Sec. of State and Sec. of Defense respectively, things have heated up in Syria, North Korea is threatening to nuke the world, Israel is more determined than ever to blow up Iran, Iran is more determined than ever to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and on and on it goes?

Those Damned Executive Orders

I’ve been reading a bit lately that some believe that there exists, at least one or more person’s interpretation of law, the provision for the president to sign a treaty and then use his executive powers to enact such a treaty even if the U.S. Senate fails to ratify the treaty.

Now, how important are those executive orders presidents have been using for decades?

The Constitution says all treaties become the supreme law of the land. It also says that those treaties must be ratified by the Senate. So much for following the Constitution.

Where’s the Beef?

If Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell had used a gun to murder all those new-born babies, would there have been a different response from the media?

Change of Priorities

Many cities and states across the U.S. are banking on increased “tourism” due to the legalization of same sex marriages and mind altering drugs. Think about that for a minute.

Day 88 – No Executive Orders

OVERBEARING!

On the 88th day since Barack Obama pretended before millions of Americans and the rest of the world, to be signing 23 executive orders that he told the people would help to protect children in our schools, he has either kept the details of those orders out of the sight of the people or the entire fiasco was nothing more than Kabuki Theater. There still is nothing posted on the White House website about those orders.

Kim Jong Un Destroy

Background Checks for Politicians

Not that it’s a new concept, but Alan Gottlieb of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, is suggesting that if politicians want background checks before a person can purchase a firearm, then perhaps it is time, considering the growing number of crooks and criminals now running the country, that any would-be politician should undergo a background check. And by the way, those background checks should NOT be conducted by any governmental agency.

Second Amendment Pretenders

Has anyone else noticed the growing number of fake Second Amendment supporters who are now saying that background checks and gun registration would do a lot to stop mass murders? On the O’Reilly Factor the other night, Bill O’Reilly, one who has at least pretended in the past to be a supporter of gun rights, personal protection and the Second Amendment, came out and said that tough background checks and gun registration, combined with stiffer sentences for those caught possessing an unregistered gun, would solve most of the problems this country has with gun violence.

If nothing else, this debate on gun rights is showing the true colors of some pretenders.

Maine Governor Inviting Gun Manufacturers

Maine’s governor Paul R. LePage, in an editorial found in the Wall Street Journal, is inviting Beretta, Colt, Magpul and probably about anybody else that makes guns and accessories to come to the Pine Tree State and set up shop there. LePage wrote:

I will never sign anti-gun legislation that erodes the rights of Maine citizens, drives your business away or infringes on the U.S. Constitution or the State of Maine Constitution.

Day 87 – No Executive Orders

TYRANNICAL!

87 Days and there are no executive orders on gun control posted on the White House website. We do have gun confiscation underway in New York – this notification to you people who continue to repeat the message drilled into your head through brainwashing, that we need “reasonable” gun control and that confiscation could never happen in America.

Christians are now labeled terrorists.

And Big Sis notifies banks that DHS can have access to safe deposit boxes and confiscate belongings, including gold, silver, guns, etc.

Keep your eyes closed and continue to pretend nothing like this will happen in this country.

obamaconstrained

“I am constrained by a system the Founders put in place.” These are the words of President Barack Obama. Such a statement tells us at least one of two things: He either really dislikes the republican form of government that purposely put restrictions on the Executive Branch for the very reason we now have Barack Obama residing in the White House. Or, he is nothing more than a tyrant, ruffling his feathers when he can’t have his way by making slaves of us all for the purpose of serving him.

I will serve no man!
