New Road Improves Access to 12,000 Acres in New Mexico

MISSOULA, Mont.—A new road is now in place and being used by elk hunters and others in northeast New Mexico thanks to funding provided by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Lineberry Foundation.

RMEF worked with the New Mexico State Land Office to improve vehicular access to approximately 6,000 acres and walk-in access to another 6,000 acres of State Trust Lands in the White Peak Area.

“This project eases the tension of a long-running dispute in Mora County over access into prime wildlife habitat,” said Blake Henning, RMEF chief conservation officer. “Not only is this mix of private and State Trust Lands key for elk but it’s also home to deer, turkey, bears, mountain lions and other species.”

RMEF provided nearly $20,000 in funding to blade the 2.5 mile road that ties into existing ranch roads and old logging roads within Game Management Unit 48 that improves access to Halls Peak, Cooks Peak and Gallinas Mesa. It is accessible off Mora County Road 10, commonly known as White Peak Road.

Additionally, RMEF paid for a 35-year right-of-way easement that blocks future land commissioners from closing the road through 2052.

The project also secures access to a primitive seven-acre campground open during hunting season solely to sportsmen and women with a valid license. RMEF volunteers also recently put in 40 hours of work to clear the campground with chainsaws, build an access gate and install a gap gate.

Commissioners oppose wolf recovery plan draft

As in past Mexican gray wolf recovery plans, the Lincoln County Commission approved a letter and reaffirmed a resolution in opposition to a draft released for public comment by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Commissioners were following the recommendations last week of the board of supervisors of the Upper Hondo Water and Soil Conservation District and of the members of the county’s Land and Natural Resources Advisory Committee.<<<Read More>>>

FAKE: Wildlife, Border Wall, Sensibility and Idealism All Rolled Into One

On the one side, idiots believe a giant wall stretching the length of the U.S. and Mexico border will solve all the immigrant problems, including terrorism, and “make America great again.” On another side you got useless eaters claiming that maintaining space for animals to freely roam between the U.S. and Mexico is more important than the beliefs of wall-builders.

And then there’s this guy. One who thinks it’s very important to put up a wall – actually only a fragmented wall – and, very important to leave corridors for the animals that would be off limits to the illegal immigrants. This he calls a compromise.

Of course if the entire issue was really about border security, or illegal immigration/open borders, then we secure the border.

The author of the linked-to piece, offers hints as to what might actually be behind this effort to stop the building of the wall, but fails in his attempts to fix a fake problem by ignoring those whom he says might be behind the problem. That makes little sense. If there is an actual security problem at the U.S. and Mexico border that requires spending billions of dollars to construct a wall to keep them out (if any wall will actually do that – think tunnels, etc.), then certainly the wall goes up and the animals will somehow (sob, cry, wail, gnash) have to figure out how to survive.

If it’s only half important to waste money on a partial wall, then why spend the money and have any wall at all.

American’s, misled as they are, really have their heads screwed on cross threaded.

Fed Investigates Self, Nothing New in Mexican Wolf Lie

It’s a continuing amazement that the Fed’s investigate themselves and come to conclusions that absolutely do not matter when all the damage has been done and any rulings are worthless and meaningless. I suppose now some will do the happy dance and declare a victory.

Mother bear killed after attacking marathon runner in New Mexico

Bear sought in attack on Valles Caldera marathon runner

JEMEZ – Department of Game and Fish officers are searching for an adult female black bear that attacked a woman Saturday afternoon while she was participating in a marathon event on the Valles Calderas National Preserve near Los Alamos.

According to responding officers, the attack occurred when the victim surprised a mother bear whose cub ran up a nearby tree.

Although the full extent of the victim’s injuries are unknown, initial reports indicate that woman was bit and scratched multiple times and sustained non-life threatening injuries to her upper body, head and neck. Nearby joggers provided immediate assistance until additional help could arrive.

She was airlifted to an Albuquerque area hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

The department is coordinating with the National Park Service to secure and deter people from entering the area. A response team that specializes in wildlife attacks of this nature has also been assisting.

Once found, the bear will be euthanized and tested for rabies. Although rabies in bears is rare, it is nearly 100 percent fatal in humans if not properly treated.

Here are some ways to protect yourself If you encounter a bear:

  • Stop, and back away slowly while facing the bear. Avoid direct eye contact, as the bear may consider that a threat. Do not run. Make yourself appear large by holding out your jacket. If you have small children, pick them up so they don’t run.
  • Give the bear plenty of room to escape, so it doesn’t feel threatened or trapped. If a black bear attacks you, fight back using anything at your disposal, such as rocks, sticks, binoculars or even your bare hands. Aim for the bear’s nose and eyes.
  • If the bear has not seen you, stay calm and slowly move away, making noise so the bear knows you are there. Never get between a mother bear and her cubs.

If you live or camp in bear country:

  • Keep garbage in airtight containers inside your garage or storage area. Place garbage outside in the morning just before pickup, not the night before. Occasionally clean cans with ammonia or bleach.
  • Remove bird feeders. Bears see them as sweet treats, and often they will look for other food sources nearby.
  • Never put meat or sweet-smelling food scraps such as melon in your compost pile.
  • Don’t leave pet food or food dishes outdoors at night.
  • Clean and store outdoor grills after use. Bears can smell sweet barbecue sauce and grease for miles.
  • Never intentionally feed bears to attract them for viewing.
  • Keep your camp clean, and store food and garbage properly at all times. Use bear-proof containers when available. If not, suspend food, toiletries, coolers and garbage from a tree at least 10 feet off the ground and 4 feet out from the tree trunk.
  • Keep your tent and sleeping bag free of all food smells. Store the clothes you wore while cooking or eating with your food.
  • Sleep a good distance from your cooking area or food storage site.

INSANITY: Contrasting Principles of Wolf Management

Check out this statement from the Idaho Statesman: “They’re asking a federal judge to force the agency to prepare an environmental impact statement, a lengthy process, and issue a temporary restraining order preventing the agency from killing wolves in Idaho until the updated analysis complying with federal environmental law is complete.”

Odd and ironic, that in Arizona and New Mexico, state agencies there are trying to force the Federal Government to devise an up-to-date environmental impact plan for increased introduction of Mexican wolves, where the environmentalists are protesting the move by the states to do this. And yet, here in Idaho, the environmentalists are demanding the same creation of a new environmental impact plan from the Federal Government, so wolves can’t be killed.

You can’t make this stuff up! It’s always a baffling of the mind when dealing with insanity.

New Mexico Plans Lawsuit to Stop USFWS From Releasing More Mongrel Dogs

Last October I shared with readers that the State of New Mexico was going to fight the Federal Government – the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service(USFWS) – if the USFWS made plans to introduce more federally protected Mexican gray wolves in that state.

Because of the very clear and precise history of the USFWS, to do just as they please, regardless of what anybody, state or individual, thinks, it’s a no-brainer to understand what the Feds will do and what that outcome will be. In October, I wrote: “No, there shouldn’t be any questions about what the Feds are going to do in New Mexico or anywhere else they decide to force people to live with wolves. If it destroys the American Heritage, including the freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness, these fascists have and will continue to carry on with business as usual.”

Today we learn that the State of New Mexico plans to file a lawsuit to stop the USFWS from dropping more mongrel dogs onto lands within that state. New Mexico officials say that the Fed’s plans are “unpermitted and illegal,” claiming the USFWS needs permission from New Mexico to release its GI Wolves.

The USFWS says it doesn’t need any permission and it is not illegal to do what they are doing. Let it be known, again, that the Feds will do as they damned well please, because they always have and they know that the Courts are on their side, while the environmental subsidiaries of the U.S. Government will do their bidding for them.

Consider Idaho as an example. The State of Idaho crafted a wolf management plan and expressly wrote into that plan that the Fish and Game Department could not vary from that plan without approval by the state’s legislators. No official permit or permission was ever granted to the Feds for wolf introduction and the Fish and Game changed the wolf management plan to fit the desires of the USFWS – without approval by the legislature. Why does New Mexico think the USFWS gives a rat’s petooty whether the state approves of their actions or not? They will do as they please! And the Courts are all in on wolf introduction.

But has anybody even considered questioning whether New Mexico is actually interested in stopping the Feds from introducing more mongrel mutts? I doubt it. I am of the opinion that New Mexico knows they can’t win such a proposed lawsuit and are only doing it to placate a few. Otherwise, you would think the smart lawyers for the State of New Mexico would use the weapons of the USFWS and the Environmentalists against them and file a suit challenging their claimed science, against the Endangered Species Act, rather than whether of not the USFWS needs permission from the state to release more wolves.

Everyone knows, but few will willingly admit, that these fake Mexican Wolves are mongrel, captive-bred, hybridized canines. The USFWS, in their exclamation that they are required by law to “recover” the Mexican wolf, state that the introduction of even more mongrel dogs is necessary to “improve the genetic diversity and reduce the kinship of the Mexican wolves in the wild to achieve recovery.”

It would seem to me that New Mexico, if they were sincerely interested in stopping the release of more dogs, would approach this from the position of whether or not these released wolves are, in fact wolves, and whether or not they meet the requirements of the Endangered Species Act as a “Distinct Population Segment” of a threatened wolf species.

How does the USFWS intend to “improve the genetic diversity” if all they have is genetically inferior DNA to mix with already genetically inferior fake, wild dogs? The USFWS will have to implement a continual process of captive breeding more mutts to dump in the woods because the inferior genetics is partly to blame for the failure of the species to grow on its own.

BUT DON’T GO LOOK!

New Mexico has a zero percent chance of stopping the Feds with the approach they are using, which makes me believe they don’t really intend to.

Line Up For Your Own Money to Compensate for Wolf Losses Along with Destruction of Food Sources

*Editor’s Note* – People cannot and will not see the evil that is behind this action. Non thinkers, programmed by government, for government, will ignorantly think I have something against ranchers being compensated for livestock losses due to wolves. I don’t and readers who have followed me realize I will support what rights a property owner has over even game and wildlife management.

The totalitarian effort of a fascist government on display here, tricks ranchers and others into thinking everyone is “justly” compensated for destruction by Government Issued wolves (more precisely known as mongrel mutts). It’s a giant Ponzi Scheme.

There’s a bigger picture that few can see and/or will refuse to consider. While it is important to compensate the rancher for losses, the act and reaction plays into the hands of those wishing the destruction of this country, control over the masses and most importantly the reduction of the population. A contributor to this website says that Environmentalism (wolf introduction and protection) is nothing more than planned genocide. Evidently people want to kill themselves.

The government is famous for giving away “grant” money. Somehow idiots think grant money is like Obamaphones – free. Grant money is nothing more than illegal tax money stolen from the people and then returned to grantees as payoffs and presented to the people as the benefits from socialism – bribes and extortion really.

But what is never discussed in any of these conversations is the real end result – loss of food production, forcing prices through the roof and with continued animal perversion (Jim Beers describes it as the marriage of Romance Biology and Environmental Voodoo) soon there will be no food and the people will be driven off their land in order to protect more animals. SICK! Control the food and you control the people – BUT DON’T GO LOOK! TRUTH IS SCARY!

The bottom line here is that so long as we are dumb enough to continue to allow Government and their partners in crime (NGO’s wink – wink) to buy us off, with our own money, and think that is justice, our future is short.

Government steals our money, steal our property, steal more money in order to provide “compensation” while food supplies disappear. No matter how you might want to white-wash it, it is genocide.

This is INSANE!

Mexican Wolf/Livestock “Pay for Presence” Payment Application Dates

ALBUQUERQUE – Livestock producers may now submit applications to the Mexican Wolf/Livestock Council to receive payments for wolf presence under the Mexican Wolf/Livestock Plan. The deadline for application submissions is June 1, 2016.

The plan was developed two years ago by the Council in order to address wolf-livestock conflicts, which is one of the most significant impediments to Mexican wolf recovery. The plan is comprised of three core strategies: payments for wolf presence, funding for conflict avoidance measures, and funding for depredation compensation.

“The Mexican Wolf/ Livestock Council’s payments for wolf presence program recognizes the indirect costs to livestock producers from Mexican wolves, including stress-related weight loss in livestock and other management costs,” said Benjamin Tuggle, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Southwest Regional Director. “While we recognize that the program is not fully funded yet, we and the Council are continuing to seek funding to fully implement this valuable program.”

Payments to livestock producers for wolf presence are based on a formula that considers a variety of factors, including whether the applicant’s land or grazing lease overlaps a wolf territory or core area (e.g., den or rendezvous area) and the number of wolf pups from that pack surviving to December 31, recognizing that survival of wolf pups is not dependent upon the livestock producer. The formula also considers the number of livestock exposed to wolves and the applicant’s participation in proactive conflict avoidance measures.

“We’re encouraged by how many livestock producers have participated in this program over the past two years,” said Livestock Council Chairman Sisto Hernandez. “The driving force behind this program was to develop something that would recognize the increase in expenditures the ranchers experience with the recovery of the Mexican Wolves. The Payments for Wolf Presence program creates incentives for ranching in ways that promote selfsustaining Mexican wolf populations, viable ranching operations, and healthy western landscapes.

Seed funding for the Coexistence Plan comes from the Federal Livestock Demonstration Program, which in 2015 provided $40,000 for depredation compensation and $60,000 for preventative measures to Arizona Game and Fish Department, and $60,000 for depredation compensation and $34,000 for preventative measures to the New Mexico Department of Agriculture. These grant funds are matched by in-kind contributions through the Mexican Wolf Fund and Defenders of Wildlife providing financial assistance to livestock producers to implement proactive measures to reduce conflicts between Mexican wolves and livestock.

“Opposition to Mexican wolf reintroduction is largely based on a lack of reasonable compensation for livestock producers that lose thousands of dollars per animal depredated by wolves. Compensation under the Plan will help build tolerance for the wolf on a working landscape, a factor that is essential for successful Mexican wolf recovery.” said Jim deVos, Assistant Director for Wildlife Management for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

The Mexican Wolf/Livestock Council continues to seek additional private and public funding, in anticipation of increased rancher participation and potential wolf range expansions.

Az Sen Flake Proposes Amendment to Energy Act to Delist MGW

I have received information from Veritas Research Consulting, that Arizona Sen. Flake has introduced Amendment #3164, as part of the Senate Energy Act (S.2012) to remove from the Endangered Species Act List Mexican gray wolves (MGW) from federal protection and placing management within the appropriate states where MGWs live.

The amendment – found at this link – calls for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to verify that at least 100 MGWs exist within a 5,000 square mile region, and to remove federal protection as per the Wolf Recovery Plan of 1982, which declares MGWs recovered at that threshold.

Missing from this amendment is any wording that would exempt court interference, now and in the future.

It appears the amendment is basically worthless, in my not-so-humble opinion.
