Revelation 9, of the holy Scriptures, describes a “star” falling from Heaven to Earth carrying the “key” to the Bottomless Pit. The Pit is opened and there will come out of the Pit, first smoke, “as of a great furnace.” The smoke is so great the “sun and the air were darkened.”

Then, out of the smoke will come locusts that have been given power, “as the scorpions of the Earth have power.” These locusts can only torment men who have not received the seal of God in their foreheads.

The Scriptures describe the torment as, “the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.” And that men will seek death and not find it.

It’s very easy to pass off all these Scripture writings from the Book of Revelation as some sort of crazy, coded, mumbo-jumbo and even science fiction nonsense. For many, many years, I chose to mostly disregard much of these writings as symbolic and coded messages. However, as we are now entering the period of great tribulation, and having spent a great deal of time studying, praying, and gaining wisdom and knowledge from the LORD God’s Holy Spirit, I feel most certain that the following portion of Revelation 9: verses 7-10, can, and should, be taken as literal.

Revelation 9: 7-10 (KJV) – “And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

⁸ And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

⁹ And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

¹⁰ And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.”

Can you picture this? I doubt it. What is being described is not tiny little locusts (grasshoppers) as most of us are used to seeing on a regular basis. This is not a description of those “giant” locusts we have read about through history that swarm and destroy everything in their path.

Revelation 9 tells us that these “locusts” are instructed not to hurt the grass of the Earth, or any green thing and/or trees, but to torment men with their “stings” for 5 months; that is those men that have not the protection of the LORD God sealed into their foreheads.

Because I have learned that Satan and his fallen angels became nothing more than “serpents,” “reptiles,” “bugs” and even “dinosaurs,” what those left behind will be so unfortunate to witness are these “locusts” from out of the Bottomless Pit, shaped like horses, crowns of gold on their heads (Satan loves things like gold and that is why men have been brainwashed to believe his gold is something of real value.). Their faces appear as those of a man but they will have hair like women and teeth like a lion. They will have iron breastplates and wings that, when they flap together, will sound like many chariots and horses running into battle.

In their tails, they will have “stings” like stings of a scorpion. They will torment unprotected men for 5 months.

Many attempt to translate this information into some sort of modern-day warfare, making some believe these “locusts” are fighter jets or drone aircraft, that are very loud, sharing that John, in his day, did not have the words to describe the military equipment, that included flight suits, helmets and face masks.

The locusts’ “stings” some describe as being that of some kind of weapon that does not kill but only causes similar effects men get when stung by a scorpion. Many side affects of scorpion stings resemble those of certain chemical warfare agents.

I used to buy into this explanation but not anymore. I think the locusts that come out of the Bottomless Pit and the events that will occur, are precisely as John describes in Revelation 9.

I believe the modern military methods of destruction will be very prevalent during this time, but this one event will be just as John describes it…damned scary, if you stop for a minute and think about how you might feel and react when you come face to face with one of these creatures.

I don’t plan to be around for that event and you shouldn’t either. The only way to escape it is to turn your back on all the things of this world and ask the LORD God to forgive you because you screwed up.

From that point forward, love the LORD they God with all thy, heart, soul, and mind and lean not unto your own understanding. In ALL your ways (and that means precisely all of them) acknowledge the LORD God and He will direct your path. You’ll be good to go. It’s a gift, not something you earn. Simply accept it and ask the LORD God to come into your heart and give you a ticket out of here and back to where you came from.

It’s simple.
