Cheney Assumes All Blame and Responsibility

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In an interview with Fox News’ Brit Hume just a few minutes ago, Vice President Dick Cheney said it was one of the worst days of his life, as I’m sure it was. He also said that he alone is responsible for accidentally shooting his friend Harry Whittington. He said he was the one who pulled the trigger and to then watch as his friend fell over was something he can never forget.

VP Cheney was emphatic in saying it was not Harry’s fault. “You cannot blame anybody else.”

This entire incident has been blown way out of proportion with demands made by media for Cheney to speak out about what happened. I honestly believe that whether you’re the Vice President or not, Cheney did what he thought would be best for Harry Whittington and his family. Whether we agree or not is secondary. The episode has been a very traumatic experience for everyone involved.

Cheney’s full interview will be on Fox News at 6 p.m. tonight. I’m sure with all the demands that the politicians and reporters have put on Cheney that after listening to his interview, they’ll shut up and leave him and the Whittingtons alone – yeah, right!
