Ohio Hunters and Fishermen Will Get More Land and Water

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

An agreement has been signed that gives the management of 12,600 acres of Akron watershed to the Ohio Division of Wildlife. The property consists of three reservoirs comprising a total of about 3,000 acres. The remaining 9,600 acres of land will be open for hunting.

In the past, use of the property for fishing and hunting required an Akron permit. Those have now be abolished. A regular Ohio hunting or fishing license will suffice.

The DOW hopes to have shoreline fishing available and the construction of a bird watching observation deck is planned. Signage will be done at designated access points.
