Mountain Lion Confirmed in Iowa

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

An official with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has confirmed that a deer killed on private property in Marshall County was done by a mountain lion. The claw and bite marks on the deer were consistent with that of a big cat plus the fact that the cat dragged a 150-pound deer some 50-yards into a pine grove.

What remained of the carcus revealed that the deer had only three legs from a previous injury. It made it easy prey.
