Dickinson Barber Will Get To Keep The Bear Skin

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Remember the Dickinson, North Dakota barber who found the dead black on the side of Interstate 94 last week? He gets his wish. Luke Simons, owner of Queen City Barber Shop, picked up the dead bear and took it home in hopes he could make a rug and display it at his shop.

Even though it is against the law for him to have removed the roadkill bear, he will not be cited for a crime. The remaining carcass of the bear, including the skull, will be used by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department for scientific research.

Simons will get the bear hide after a necropsy has been conducted.
