Bighorn Sheep That Was Released Shows Up Lame

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

On Friday of last week, I gave you a brief story and a link to photos and a story of two female bighorn sheep released into the desert of the San Jacinto mountains. On Sunday one of the two sheep was spotted by hikers and rangers with a lame rear leg. At one point, people had to drive coyotes away with stones as it was stalking the injured animal.

Authorities will keep an eye on it and hope she can survive. An article in the Desert Sun explains some as to why they shouldn’t recover the sheep.
