Opening Weekend Of New Hampshire Moose Hunt Considered A Success

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This past Saturday and Sunday marked the opening two days of the annual New Hampshire moose hunt. Despite rain and wind and in the far north, some snow, moose hunters had relatively good success in tagging 197 moose. Last year the first weekend began with 133 moose being tagged. Last year the season opening was dismal due to severe weather.

16,300 people applied for a chance at only 675 moose permits issued. The moose season will run for 9 consecutive days ending on October 29th.
