Polargrizz Bear Finds Its Way To New Home In Idaho……Stuffed

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Jim Martell is the hunter from Idaho who paid exorbitant amounts of money to go on a polar bear hunt into the remote regions of the Northwest Territory in Canada. He ended up shooting a bear that was a cross-breed between a grizzly bear and a polar bear, a rare event that does happen from time to time in nature. It caused quite an uproar to say the least.

We first broke the story back in April of 2006. We were finally able to locate some pictures of the hunt and that would show the bear. You can find those here. Then in May, I wrote an article depicting comments and much of the uproar that came from a host of readers, mostly rath directed at Mr. Martell.

Well, the dust has finally settled and now after 7 months at a taxidermist located in Yellowknife, the stuffed polargrizz has made its way to Martell’s home in Idaho. I’ve not been able to find a picture of the finished product but if I do, I’ll get it posted for you.
