*Editor’s Note* – Not that I am opposed to composting, but other than a humorous mention of “raccoons” in this article, there is absolutely no discussion about the prospects of composting luring in far more animals than a stray raccoon.  Attracting wild animals to a compost pile can have several negative effects, including attacks on humans and the spread of disease. Please consult with experts on the causes and effects of composting that involves human food waste or any other animal attractant.

Cities and towns start to realize the value of turning food waste into black gold, and companies vie for the business.
