Border Security Needs “Normandy” Fencing for the Animals

“Pedestrian fencing can make passage for wildlife impossible. But there is also more porous, “vehicle” fencing in areas where two-track dirt roads across the desert have existed for decades.

There are two common types: bollard barriers like those in parks and on beaches to block vehicle access, and “Normandy” fencing, similar to the steel-bar barricades with X-shaped supports that were used on World War II battlefields like the D-Day beaches.
