Ephesians 2: 8-9

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We tend to make salvation in Christ the Savior difficult and complicated. Odd that for most people accepting a gift is quite easy and we are especially grateful for any gift and yet, for some, accepting God’s gift is seemingly impossible. God doesn’t ask us to jump through hoops, work ourselves to death, go into a small room and “confess” our sins to a man, or give $20.00 in order to ask for forgiveness. A cheerful giver never expects anything in return, neither does Christ the Savior, our Creator, Yehwah, Yeshua.

The only thing God asks us to do is accept his gift. Some think the actual gift comes later but that’s not true. His gift of salvation includes his Holy Spirit, who gives our lives meaning and helps us to discern right from wrong in our own hearts.

Some ask what can we do about the violence in the world today. Others attempt to make man-god laws. None of these things will give us true peace and happiness. Accepting God’s gift can put an end to all this misery.
